Mini- CAT Fluid management in Septic patients
Clinical Question: During my internal medicine rotation at NYPQ, I cared for several adult patients admitted with sepsis, many of whom required large-volume fluid resuscitation. I noticed variability in the choice of intravenous fluids. Some patients received normal saline while others received balanced crystalloids, and we wondered whether this difference could impact outcomes such as kidney injury or survival.
